The 8th Review Meeting of the Joint Convention in Vienna

The Eighth Review Meeting of the Contracting Parties to the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management will be held from 17 to 28 March 2025 at the headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna. At the event on 20 March, Ms Andrea Beatrix Kádár, President of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority (HAEA), will present the main findings of nuclear regulatory activities carried out in the past period.

The triennial Review Meeting provides an opportunity for the participating Contracting Parties to jointly review good practices and the significant developments in the field of radioactive waste management since the last meeting and evaluate the experience gained from the related oversight tasks completed since their last reunion.

Prior to the Review Meeting, Contracting Parties are also obliged to submit their national reports to the IAEA.

In addition to the President of the HAEA, a presentation will be provided on the Hungarian National Report by the representatives of Public Limited Company for Radioactive Waste Management and the Ministry of Energy.
